Alpha Service Notice

An honest summary of what running on Kupe Cloud during alpha means.

Kupe Cloud Alpha Service Notice

Version: v1.2.0 Last updated: September 11, 2026

Kupe Cloud is in alpha. Please read this.

Kupe Cloud is an early alpha service. Signup is open while we learn what the platform still needs from the people using it. This page is a plain summary of what that means in practice. The Terms of Service govern use of the Services, including the Alpha Services provisions.

No SLA

During alpha there is no Service Level Agreement, no uptime guarantee and no service credits. The platform is run on a best effort basis by a small team, mostly during UK business hours. Don’t run production-critical workloads on Kupe Cloud during alpha.

Backups: what we cover, what you own

Platform state (your account, tenant configuration and cluster definitions) is managed as infrastructure-as-code and can be rebuilt. That part is on us.

Your workload data is on you. Anything stored inside a tenant cluster, including persistent volumes, is not backed up by Kupe Cloud. Your recovery path is your own GitOps repository: if your workloads are defined in Git, you can redeploy them. Data that only lives in cluster storage should be backed up by you, or treated as disposable.

This split is deliberate and will outlast alpha. We may provide tools that make backing up easier, but deciding what gets backed up, running those backups and testing that restores actually work stays your responsibility. Nobody knows better than you which of your data matters.

High availability

Standard alpha clusters run a single control plane replica. HA is available as an opt-in for tenant clusters. Clusters without HA may see short API interruptions during platform maintenance.

Maintenance and changes

Maintenance and significant platform changes are announced at status.kupe.cloud. There is no fixed maintenance window during alpha. Maintenance may briefly interrupt clusters without HA, and platform components will keep changing as the product develops.

Support

Alpha exists to gather your feedback, so please send it. Email support@kupe.cloud and we will reply during business hours, best effort.

For security issues, see our security.txt or email security@kupe.cloud.

Incidents and status

Status and incident updates are posted at status.kupe.cloud. For significant incidents we also email affected users.

Data deletion

You can delete a cluster, a tenant, or your whole user account yourself, from the console or the kupe CLI, and you can still ask us to do it for you. When a tenant is deleted, its platform data, including stored metrics and logs, is purged automatically, normally within a day. Some records, such as invoices, are kept where the law requires it. Deleting clusters, tenants, and accounts sets out exactly what goes and what stays.

Acceptable use

Use of the Services is subject to the Acceptable Use Policy.
