Kupe operates
The Kubernetes foundation and included platform services, including GitOps, central observability and platform guardrails.
A clear operating boundary helps you decide whether Kupe is right for your team, and what you need to prepare before deploying.
Kupe maintains the platform foundation and included services. Your team owns application behaviour, configuration, security and workload data recovery.

Application images and dependencies, workload manifests, secrets usage, resource settings, health checks and application-level incident response.
Workload data and persistent volumes are not backed up by Kupe. You decide what to back up, run the backups and test that restores work.
Kupe manages account, tenant and cluster configuration as platform state. Rebuilding a cluster definition does not restore the data inside a persistent volume. Keep deployment definitions in Git and maintain a separate data recovery plan.
Platform policies and security signals provide a baseline. Your team still needs to configure applications safely, manage access and secrets, patch application dependencies and act on relevant findings.
There is no SLA or uptime guarantee during alpha. Standard alpha clusters have one control-plane replica; HA is opt-in. Support is best effort, mostly during UK business hours. The Alpha Notice defines the current service terms.
For the current service commitments, read the Alpha Notice. For technical boundaries, see the platform architecture.
Your own Kubernetes API, familiar deployment tools, and a connected stack for GitOps, observability and security. Kupe keeps the platform running.
